The Santuário das Fadas is a place that rescues and welcomes, mainly farm animals victims of mistreatment, neglect and abuse. In the Sanctuary these animals arrive often debilitated and without any dignity. Here, in addition to treating the physical, we also treat the emotional ones, bringing back the self-esteem of these animals and trust in human beings. It is a very hard work but also a lot of love and brotherhood that rescues the essence of each individual. The animals that live here live their lives with freedom receiving much love and care. The Sanctuary was founded in 2008 in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro by Patricia Fittipaldi, veterinarian, vegan and abolitionist.

We are a non-profit association. With this we live literally of donations and seeking every day partners, both individuals and corporations, who can collaborate in helping us to maintain the Sanctuary.

Why an animal sanctuary?

One of the justifications for the existence of an animal sanctuary is the need for an appropriate place to house the most varied species of animal victims by human action. Animals that were victims of neglect and abuse, which ended up getting their own luck. A sanctuary can recover and in some situations return the nature to these animals. With this we will be minimizing the damage caused by man to nature and giving a second chance to these animals. Sanctuaries can carry out various types of activities such as environmental education, rescue and release of recovered wild animals, and the creation of enclosures as close to the natural habitat for animals that have remained in the sanctuary

Philosophy

Save lives of diverse species of animals by offering them permanent homes where they will have the chance to have a happy and safe life. We intend through environmental education jobs to raise awareness of the importance of preserving animals, plants, water and Whole planet. So showing that we can live in harmony with all beings and respect them. We believe that only through respect for all beings and elements of nature, be it animal, vegetable, mineral, earth and water, the planet can be saved. All beings deserve to be respected and should be free having full right and control under their lives. Abolition of animal slavery is the only solution to a libertarian world, a happy, colorful, smelling and harmonious world. A world where human and nonhuman animals can live together in full harmony and together participate in the spectacle that is life! Our Objectives

Rescue and provide permanent homes for animals of various species that have been victims of neglect, neglect, exploitation, abuse, and animal trafficking. Provide these animals with a quiet, happy, safe life, with health, good food, hygiene and dignity. Raise awareness of the importance of environmental preservation and the right to life that all animals should possess. Our main goal is to become a self-sustaining day, developing projects and activities that will one day become a reality.
